TELESFORO AND HIS CHILDREN

 

Telesforo had 6 chidren.

1- Cesar Golez Gargantiel born May 12, 1917. He enlisted in the army during WWII in 1941 but never returned.

2- Remedios Golez Gargantiel -Gaudiel . Born Jan 3, 1919 graduated from Silliman University and became a Home Economics teacher. She married Felix Gaudiel Sr. a lawyer (b. Feb 18, 1898 -d. June 11, 1991) who was the first filipino acting president of Silliman University, dean of Silliman University College of Law and Constitutional Convention Delegate to name a few. Remedios passed away on July 6, 2022.

3- Consolacion Golez Gargantiel - Ignacio. Born August 20, 1921 . Graduated from Silliman University and was a history teacher. She married Roberto Ignacio Sr. a lawyer from Cadiz , Negros Occidental who was appointed municipal judge of the town of Bayawan and Santa Catalina in the 1950’s. She died June 11, 2021.

4- Igmedio Golez Gargantiel - Born August 5, 1923 he married Ester Rivas a teacher from Tigbauan, Iloilo. He was a municipal councilor and was a very talented mechanic and craftsman. He died April 19, 2015.

5- Serafin Golez Gargantiel - Born Sept. 3, 1925 graduated from Silliman University Law School became municipal judge of Bayawan and Santa Catalina. He married Rhodora Tronco a pharmacist from Tigbauan, Iloilo. He died on Dec. 3, 2011.

6- Rodolfo Golez Gargantiel - Born Sept 22, 1927, he married Teresita Tirol a pharmacist from Capiz. An enginer from Mapua Institute of Technology Rod became a sucessful businessman. He was forward thinking and ahead of his time. He died on July 28, 1981.

Porong the Civic Leader

  • Re-election of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

    President Marcos was a house guest at the home of Telesforo in Bayawan.

    Pres. Marcos decided to stay in Porong’s house because Vice-president Lopez guarateed his safety. Maria Grecia Golez shown between VP Lopez and President Marcos is the relative of Mariquit Javellana Lopez the wife of the Vice president.

  • Gargantiel Family Ancestral Home

    Porong’s house was the gathering place for the Gargantiel family. The picture was taken during the house blessing with the children and grandchildren. His old house in the middle of the town was demolished.

    Porong with his second wife Maria. She is the elder sister of Porong’s first wife Socorro. They have no children.

  • Gargantiel -Ignacio

    Consolacion Gargantiel married Atty Roberto Ignacio Sr. from Cadiz, Negros Occidental. Roberto was appointed municipal judge of Bayawan and Santa Catalina in the early 1950. He left Bayawan and practiced law in Manila for over 20 years.

  • Rivas -Gargantiel

    Igmedio Gargantiel married Ester Rivas a teacher from Tigbauan, Iloilo. She was a Grade 1 teacher for 30 years at Baywan Central Elementary School and a Grade 6 teacher for 10 years in the same school.

  • Tronco - Gargantiel

    Serafin Gargantiel married Rhodora Tronco a pharmacist from Tigbauan, Iloilo. They owned a pharmacy in the town proper. called Botica Willa.
